Chevy Rolls Out Trailering Camera System for 2014-2016 Silverado Pickups

Chevrolet is rolling out a trailering camera system that makes towing big objects easier for pickup truck owners. Developed by Echomaster and available on Silverados from the 2014 to 2016 model years, the new system incorporates three cameras: one in each of the truck’s extended side-view mirrors and one mounted at the back of the trailer.
When all three cameras are at work, displaying their feed on the center monitor of the Silverado’s dashboard, pickup truck owners can say goodbye to blind spots. Additionally, the third camera at the back of the trailer’s roof is capable of infrared, making it easy to see even at night.
For customers who wish to see even more, Chevrolet is making that possible as well. A fourth camera is available to mount inside the trailer, so the driver can monitor sensitive cargo—such as livestock. Later on, a fifth camera will become available in the center brake light to keep an eye on the bed’s contents and to make it easier to hook up a fifth-wheel or gooseneck trailer.
