For six years now, Chevrolet and the American Cancer Society have joined together for annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events all across the country.
Chevrolet and General Motors employees along with dealerships and other organizations are supporting the program with team participation in walks, even sponsorships, and other events and activities.
“All across Chevrolet, we are proud to be part of the fight against breast cancer,” said Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet Marketing. “Last year was a record year in Chevrolet helping the American Cancer Society sponsor 84 walks and raising nearly $1.6 million for its programs. We fully expect to exceed last year’s contributions.”
Chevrolet even showed its support through Team Chevrolet Motorsports. Two NASCAR Sprint Cup Races at Talladega Superspeedway (Oct. 23rd and Oct. 30th) featured a pink Chevrolet SS Pace Car. For every caution lap driven by the pink Chevy SS, Chevrolet donated $350.
As part of the campaign, Chevrolet is encouraging social media users to show their support for friends, relatives, and others with breast cancer by using the hashtag #IDriveFor. Chevrolet will then donate $5 for every post on Twitter or Instagram, up to $500,000. In addition, here at Jeff Lungren Chevrolet, we’ll donate $5, too, for every test drive you take for the #IDriveFor campaign.
